Welcome to the new restaurant guide to the Cannes area which focuses on establishments that use, as far as possible, only local fresh produce from local markets, cook their meals from start to finish and are prepared to allow us to verify this.
What we are seeking to establish is a definitive list of real tables, serving real food at value-for-money prices. As many of you will be aware, lots of places masquerading as restaurants are bringing shame on the noble tradition that France has for generations exemplified.
We are talking precooked food from industrial wholesalers microwaved and served with a flourish of last second invention to unsuspecting passers-by, at eyewatering prices. These places come and go, but often swamp the market and debase the coinage of this great nation’s culinary heritage. We aim to choose for you, the discerning gastronome, the best of what is available in Cannes. Our selection covers all wallet sizes, but what especially marks us out is our commitment to GOOD FOOD and GREAT COOKING.
